Weekly weight loss injections in the form of Mounjaro are available to a small number of patients on the NHS. The role out is gradual starting with those individuals who are felt to gain the most benefit.
The way the NHS is rolling out the medication is controversial. Many of our patients have received these medications privately from various providers. Often these private prescriptions are started without you needing any physical contact with the company. The rules for us to prescribe are a lot stricter and require multiple face to face to face appointments. Patients are also required to be signed up to and engage with a national support programme. If you stop engaging with this service then we will no longer be allowed to prescribe the medication.
Due to the way the service is being commissioned by the NHS your practice may only be able to provide this service through specific Saturday appointments at Chawton House Surgery. Our practices are having to focus their weekday appointments on urgent and routine care.
BMI Calculator
You need to know your current Body Mass Index (BMI) to know if you might be eligible. You need your current height and weight to undertake this calculation. Weight should be measured without shoes and in light clothing. Use the link below to access a BMI calculator.

If you think you are eligible and want to engage with this service then please contact us using the form at the bottom of this page. The practices have lists of patients who appear eligible based on their records so you have been signposted to this page. There may be some patients who are eligible but the practices are not aware as they do not have recent height and weight information.
